In our digital society, doomscrolling is a prominent term. My aim is to intervene against the endless surfing of social media. This series encourages critical reflection on media consumption. Dopamine, the happiness hormone, is released through social media, games and online shopping. However, overstimulation creates a cycle of highs and lows that keeps us trapped in an endless loop. The word dopamine in my work emphasises this theme. In the centre is a smartphone that transforms as you scroll. The dark background underlines the vibrant colours of the screen and symbolises isolation. Each of the three animations transforms the phone into a spiral, a hamster wheel or an infinity symbol - symbolising the endless cycle of consumption.
